About MCESA
The Monroe County Earth Science Association (MCESA) was established in 2007 to stimulate interest in mineralogy, lapidary, paleontology and all earth science related subjects. We are a non-profit organization of geologists, teachers, students, jewelers and hobbyists. The association has broad activities designed for beginners through the professionals on a wide variety of topics. The diversity of the members is what makes this club exciting. Everything from budding junior rock hounds, hobbyists, and experts all mixed together enjoying camaraderie, collections, knowledge and field trip experiences.

MCESA meets monthly from September through May from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 114 Knight Street, Stroudsburg. Past meetings have had such diverse topics as mineral micro-mounting, healing crystals, volcanoes, crystal forms and formation, and fossil identification. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Meetings are free and open to all ages. Free door prize specimens are given to all attendees. Coffee and snacks are served.
Membership to MCESA has many advantages.
Members receive e-mail newsletters each month.
There are two meetings each year that are open only to members. A dinner and gift exchange in December, and a silent auction event in June.
Members are given priority on limited-space outings and contests.

Membership also insures you for field work. Only members can join us on field trips and digs. This is one of the most fulfilling aspects of our hobby, join us today!
Our Club Officers
Our team of volunteers keeps our club running smoothly.

Robin Kessler
President
Robin has been surrounded by minerals through his entire life. Over the years he has learned much about our community, and seeks to see us thrive. He holds degrees from ESU and NCC. He encourages cross-hobby thinking as he actively creates the links from ours to many other disciplines.

Nina Kiliszek
Treasurer
Nina began in minerals when she was 27 years old with the queens mineral club. She begged for rides, but was able to make trips to Ellenville and Newstreet, among others. Upon moving to the Poconos, she took a short break, but rekindled her interest with quarts crystal near route 80. The professor recruited her for the club right at the side of the road.

Michael Kessler (The Professor)
Secretary
Having taught 8th grade geology for many years, The Professor went on to teach at NCC and Penn State University. As such, he is our first and best resource on all things Earth Science. He often gives presentations and enlightens us to the science behind our beloved hobby.
